![]() ![]() Those people have the resources to do more than antagonistic threads and dubious comparisons in dubious websites.Explore the last remnants of civilization in this vast, unforgiving, and interconnected world. Here's what I'd do: flood a writer or editor from a website such as Kotaku or Polygon with the evidence, remind them that the game was highlighter by IGN, and let them go to town. Only one of them looks damning, the other looks plausible (would've been nice to have a side-by-side), and the rest are not even in-game footage, so that could be anything. 4chan, is it? Which is already reason enough for most major outlets to turn a blind eye. But the way y'all are going about it can only go so far. It's natural for people to call out and talk about ignoble acts. Well there's no way anything will be done about it if everyone just stays silent about it. And then, either FS will issue a C&D or they'll file a lawsuit. ![]() It would come up sooner or later, with or without a mountain of threads. ![]() play something instead? You know that accusing them of this or that won't really do a whole lot, right? If this is as true as the sky is blue, an angry internet mob has nothing to add. Originally posted by it's a gabe:We'll find out whether that holds true soon enough, of course.īut seriously, why are you people devoting so much time to ripping th devs a new one? :| Why not. You make it sound like only the full game is copyrighted and if I steal all the animations and textures and whatnot one at a time then I am fine. But ripping the file and using in your own game sure is. xD Well you own that animation, the one you made, if someone makes one themselves that is very similar if not the same its not theft. This is a honest question, regarding the technical stuff.įurther I ask myself if you can declare ownership on an animation itself? You can declare only ownership of the code, the asset, something like that, right?Īnd if you can declare on the animation itself, the look of it, then we will have big problems, because every second game has stolen something from games before. Sure, you can recreate it, maybe near to exact identical, but can you actually steal it. Originally posted by Posenpaul:Can anyone explain to me how you can steal an animation with two games based on completly different engines? I'm defo not opening that second link tho, as I have no idea where it's been, but I did look at the Imgur stuff. What the hell is this grey thing that's being compared to Malenia? If I've seen it in game yet, it had its textures. Now, you're gonna have to educate me a little here. What stands out is the last attack, really. I can see where it's similar from memory, but I dn't trust my memory that much. is not really a comparison considering there's no side-by-side like the others. first one is very similar indeed, but I'm not any sort of specialist to confirm that yes, your honor, they should be punished I'll take your word for it. I've seen things I found similar, but exactly the same? Hardly. They might've RECREATED some animations and given them a slightly different flair, but I have yet to see an animation that brought me right back to any Dark Souls game. Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying this game (cue the clown awards), but I would never say anything about it looks AAA.
